What Are Some Of The Symptoms Of Infertility
Countless women have problems with infertility. Many others do not realize they have a problem with infertility until they try to get pregnant, whilst some show the symptoms that are directly related to conception. Each woman is different and the symptoms and characteristics or signs that are indicative of infertility vary accordingly. It many cases it affect the relationship with their spouse.
If a woman does not become pregnant after trying, then she should see her doctor. If you have sex a few times per week over a 12 to 24 month period without using a contraceptive and still not get pregnant, then you should see your doctor or gynecologist for a diagnoses of a problem with infertility. In some cases, if there is a problem, a fertility specialist may be called in for consultation or referral. The most common sign of infertility in women, among the numerous possibilities is an irregular period or menstrual cycle. Of course, this is not a sure sign of infertility since there are many other things that can cause an irregular menstrual cycle and even more that can cause infertility. If the irregular cycle is combined with a weight problem, either too much or too little, then that is another possibility of fertility problems in women.
Women who are overweight often have hormonal problems which may affect their ability to conceive. Very thin women, on the other hand, lack the correct combination of vitamins and minerals necessary for conception. There is also a problem with drug dependence or alcoholism that can be a cause of infertility. The real problem with frequent use or abuse of alcohol or illegal drugs and fertility is that it affects the reproductive system by reducing the necessary nutrients in such a way that a prospective fetus will not have the proper environment in which to grow and therefore try to discourage conception. Many couples who abuse substances or partake in too many cocktails have a difficult time conceiving.
Men can also have characteristics of infertility that are sometimes obvious, sometimes not. The obvious is a physical or mechanical problem such as testicles that have not dropped to their normal position, but the lesser know signs are not so and are more common in our modern lifestyle. Tight fitting pants or shorts create a problem for men trying to produce good swimmers or sperm for conception. Too much heat on the gonads and scrotum will also inhibit a man’s reproductive ability.
The commonality among men and women in their inability to become pregnant is their weight problems and drug or alcohol abuse. And the same holds true for a women’s reproductive system when it malfunctions; a man’s ability to produce the right size, shape and amount of sperm for conception is similar. Now, if a couple has intercourse three or four times a week when the woman is not ovulating, then the changes of getting pregnant are drastically reduced. This is not infertility, but wrong timing. It is vital to conception for the couple to have intercourse at the right time of the month. Tracking a woman’s body temperature or using a commercial kit to monitor ovulation may be one way to get the timing just right.
